Wealth

cario

And you’ve drawn the token marked Court of the Coffin. 18 You better get going; Charon will give you your ticket.

chorus leader

Blow yourself to bits! You’re an imp and a rascal to play us for suckers, and you haven’t yet bothered to explain anything to us, when we’ve taken great pains to be here, and time we can’t afford to lose, passing right by innumerable thyme plants.

cario

All right, I won’t keep you in the dark any longer. Gentlemen, my master’s brought Wealth home with him, and he’s going to make you wealthy.

chorus leader

You mean it’s really possible for us to be wealthy?

cario

So help me god, you’ll be Midases if you can find a pair of ass’s ears! 19

chorus leader

I’m so happy and so glad, I want to dance for joy, if what you’re saying is really true.
